Reading Education and Adult Development Saint John Ltd (“READ Saint John”) is a registered charity providing confidential, one-on-one literacy support to low literacy adults in the Greater Saint John area. Our ability to help our learners and do outreach for new learners has been significantly affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. We require funds to help us continue assisting vulnerable people in a way that keeps everyone involved- safe, healthy, and comfortable.

For more than four (4) decades, READ Saint John has been assisting adults to reach their individual literacy goals. We use the Laubach Literacy tutoring system to help learners to learn to read and/or improve their literacy skills.  Each learner is matched with a tutor, and through confidential one-on-one tutoring, they work together to reach the learners' stated goals. We are carrying on this important work with assistance from volunteers who donate their time and talent toward developing and implementing lesson plans with their assigned learners.
